Auchentoshan Three Wood Single Malt Scotch

Auchentoshan Three Wood Single Malt Scotch

Aged in three different casks. What don't you say.

Antique records from the year 1800 mention anĀ illegal DuntocherĀ Distillery, which may have been a predecessor to theĀ legal AuchentoshanĀ Distillery. A license for distillation wasĀ obtained in 1823. It is the only Scottish distillery left employing aĀ true full-timeĀ third distillation. This makes for aĀ sweeter and more delicateĀ Scotch, which is unique. The Distillery is locatedĀ near GlasgowĀ (that's why it's also known as Glasgow's Malt Whisky) in theĀ Lowland regionĀ of Scotland.

Auchentoshan Three WoodĀ is a no-age statement Scotch, which is aged inĀ three different cask types. FirstĀ  in Bourbon barrels, next in Spanish Oloroso Sherry and finally it's moved toĀ Pedro XimenezĀ Sherry casks. The final maturation gives it extra nuances and a layer of very intriguing flavors.
