Known more commonly as the āoriginalā Moutai, characterised by its distinct flavour and mellow yet pleasant after-taste. It was awarded the honourable title of National Liquor, the highest accolade for any wine or spirit in China.
Kweichow Moutai is the most sought after Baijiu around the world. From the producer: "Baijiu literally means 'white liquor.' Itās made from one or more of these raw materials in varying amounts: Sorghum, Wheat, Rice, Sticky Rice, and Corn. Baijiu uses solid-state fermentation. It doesnāt use yeast like most other production processes. Instead, it uses a fermentation agent called Qu (pronounced 'chew')."
